sounds good........the acoustics are well played and sound really solid......good vocals...........you already know about the drums, but they don' t detract, so that's okay..........good song

Real nice sounding acoustics. Vocals were good. However a syllable here and there gets covered up. I'm not sure about the vocal doubling - I would have either done it for the whole song or not at all. My personal opinion is that doubled vocals sound better if they're all sent down the middle (they sound panned here).

I'm focusing on too many negatives here. I really think it's overall a good sound.

3M, I know. I kinda get tired of the same up the middle, and if harmonizing was something I could do, it would be better. You know, live and learn, but fun. Thanks.

First and foremost...GREAT PICS IN THE CAVE!!! I totally didn't expect you to look like that at all. :D (as I told you).

Hey man, what is that superlow-subsonic thud on the 1's during the verses. That sounds kick ass in the headphones.

Being a conventional bore, I'm kinda' with MMM on the panned vox thing in the chorus. It just draws too much attention to the fact that they ARE doubled vox...But it was a cool change, so I don't know. IT'S YOUR SONG!!!

Anyway, thanks for posting...I always like your tunes.

[edit] One more thing...the only place where the drums stuck out was when they're solo'd at the beginning of the song. If I were you, I'd just chop off the first and start the tune where the instruments come in.

your tunes are always a pleasant journey..

maybe you could make the vocal doubling sound a bit tighter, but it's still a cool song..

hey chris and Sam, I got no bass now, so I'm just using what I used in the 1.5 tune. A little zoom123 rythum box. You tap the little buttons. he he he he, fun, but boring. Got to get another bass to hang around for like a year. Chris, glad you liked the pics. And Sam, I was almost expecting a pic for your comment. Some of those in the 1.5 thread were killer.

I'm agreeing with you all, at this point, about the panned vocals. I've been listening with the volume cranked for about an hour. Time to try something else.

thanks fellows,

Dan

See........now I don't agree with everyone about the panned vocals. I like panning. I'm a Jimi guy and he used LOTS of panning and I'm one who likes it. I've seen many posts where people say that vocals should always be down the center....who says? When you go hear bands does the singer always stand in the middle? OK....enough rant.

Cool song Dan....I think this is one of the better songs you've done. I thought the guitars sounded good....the vox is a little too loud in my system....very cool guitar parts.....nice tunage.

you have some cool vocals ... like a mix between willie nelson (without the country twang
)and neil young??? :) ... I think I told you neil young before :)

cool song ... you sound great!!!

Enjoyed

Lt., and J., what's up? just finished up a wed. nite jam. drunk and fucked up. wow. david brought a '68 fender percision, chrome pick guard, all original, with case with him tonite. killer bass.

Bob, I'm going both ways on the pan deal. I hear it good both ways. so, what the fuck, who gives a rip. If it sounds good at the time, so be it. thanks alot for the listen. and I listened to it both ways. tomorrow I'll more than likely think it sounds better straight up. he he he he

J., your comments are always welcome. thanks. doing this stuff is more fun than anyone can imagine.

thanks fellows, for the listen.

dtb got it goin on.Always a pleasure to hear ya.You sound like such a chill dude.I can hear ya with that mental constipation.GREAT TUNE!!!!Made me smile...Super guitar sound.Throw me a rope so I can climb out of the giant coffee can I'm stuck in still.I don't know if it's my guitar(Yamaha400A) or my mic or what but I can't even get close to a tone like that.Much Props given...I can give you props,right?....Sir...?

don't call me Sir, Sir. It's the Martin, and the v67 running hot. I love the sound in the headphones like that. My two best gear purchases, the Martin and the mic. I never could get that sound without them. Thanks.

chilling,

dtb

dtb, the wise man from virginia. hey, will you title your next cd 'virginia wisdom'?

i like this one. i'm voting against the vocal double in the chorus. i am, however, voting strongly in favor of [bold]jaimee harris[/bold] echoing 'every day is a hard luck day' during the chorus, an octave up from where you are singing it.

btw, level headed dancer is still amoung my 'top ten' from this board. don't ask me what the other nine are cause there's probably more than that.

...edit... ok, how do you bold something?

Dan, every tune I hear from you gets progressivly better. The drums machine is what it is but the guitars and vocals are working big time. Down right Dawg music.:D

If'in I had a daughter that could sing like Jaimee Harris, you'd never hear my voice here. And great title, "Virginia Wisdom", can I use it?

How do you "bold" something? Hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

hey Track, you think maybe it's cause I try and do something almost every day? Man I need a life. But I did actually go out and play golf yesterday. 65 degrees and a light wind, in Jan. makes you do stupid things. Oh, and new gear does that too.
