This is my band Here and There. I did all of the engineering and recording in a tiny beach house beside the ocean on the island of Faial in the Azores, in extremely cramped quarters, on gear the band purchased and shipped to the island...basically just a quick PC, MOTU 896HD, Event TR5 monitors, a couple 57's, couple 58's, NT1A, some pretty poor Nady tom, kick and drum overhead mics, and an older Audio-Technica condenser. I constructed an isolation booth out of bamboo from our backyard, fishing line, and blankets. All recording took place in the kitchen. My brother(the drummer's) bedroom was the control room. My girlfriend and I lived in the other room, the rest of the band and a group of friends lived in another house in the "village". I also mixed the entire project at a small studio I have access to back here in Canada. Most of the vocal tracks were also done here in Canada, as I had serious allergy problems in the Azores. Let me know what you think.
