hi have posted a few questions to find out what product i need and i think that this or a different brand should do the job .
http://www.alesis.com/product.php?id=93
basicly i want to record a whole band simoultaneously into cubase on sepearte tracks within cubase, not just one stereo track like the usb mixers. am i right in saying that if i bought this product it would cover the above needs?
I know little about recording so bear with me here. I also would like to find out why mixers are said to be i.e 12 track, 16, 8 track. obviously this is because they have that many tracks, but what i want to know is, how many of them tracks i can record into?.the reason I ask is because when i was reading the spec of the above product it states it has 4 xlr inputs and 2 stereo balanced 1/4 inputs, this equals only six INPUT channels, am i correct?? what are the other tracks for?
so finally is the above mixer what i need to record a whole band, on to separte tracks within cubase?
cheers
