Help!!!!

I am a guitar player but i want a good microphone for my band(around 100å).I'm thinking of a shure sm-58.Is it a good choice?
Also please tell me the cheapest solution for an average drums recording(i said the cheapest)

try and get an sm-57, they are industry standard for guitar amp micing, it will give u a nice tone, depending on what sort of music you are playing, you might wanna concider a second mic, maybe something with a larger diaphram, to pick up more of your low ends too. but then if your just using a clean tone, the 57 should be fine on its own.

My young friend, I'd stick with SM-57's all around. Put a foam pop filter on a 57 and it's a killer vocal mic. Sounds great in front of a guitar amp and for snare and toms, it's one of the first mics a lot of folks reach for. And when you aquire more mics down the road (once you start it'll NEVER stop) you won't outgrow the 57s.

Get an SM57. Indestructible, versatile, inexpensive.
By the way, where in Greece are you? Athens? Thesoloniki?

Our singer uses a sm58, sounds great... with his voice? It treats his mid range voice nice, bings out some character and almost adds some fullness...with his voice.?

I guess it depends , buy, try, return.

We are going to get a sm57, maybe even for vocals, We will use for snare, guitar and I may try as stated above a sm 58 on the cab also, it sounds good in theory. so thanks.
