I have a mxl 990 with a mxl mic mate just to do some rough draft songs before i go to the studio i use adobe audition 3 and the vocals are cool but i want ti to sound lighter. I mean i always hear other amateur vocals and they sound way better than mine. I just want some tips you know like how to make it sound loud when you are "screaming" but low at the same time i dunno. I just need some tips i guess. recording tips anything. My vocals sound so full and bassy.

Are you compressing them? Compression is valuable on any kind of vocals, but on screaming type vocals its an absolute must-have. I'm pretty sure Adobe Audition has some compressor plugins that should help you out.
