I've been recording vocals for a while now on a cheap computer mic and I want to make a small recording booth in my closet and I want to know what I can use as padding for the walls and the equipmant I need besides the equalizer. Please help me.PLEASE!!!

P.S. - Money is tight so I can't afford pro-stuff

One of these and one of these will set you up nicely for now. And you don't need an equalizer yet.

It's anything but 'pro-stuff' --- more like the bottom rung of the semi-pro ladder.

Save your money until you can afford these pieces or something of equal quality or you'll be throwing your money away on crap.

Hey ssscientist. In about that same price range is studio projects B1 as good a vocal condensor mic or you like the audio tech better?

part of the glory of recording in a closet (i've found) is that it's relatively easy to use the clothes to help isolate you acoustically.

i've had reasonable success positioning the mic in the back corner of the closet (i've got one about two 7 feet long, seven feet deep with sliding doors), and making a little open area of sorts around it with hung clothes. presto! ghetto bootleg vocal booth. AND you can keep using it as a closet.

also, tap lights are a plus if you're claustrophobic. :D
