HELP!

I have a Tascam 414 MKII, and I use it to record guitar, and my keyboard.
As it is hooked up now, I have the left main out from my keuboard, going into the Left MIC/IN. And the same for the right main out, except going into the right MIC/IN. I have panned them accordingly so I could get a stereo recording, but for some reason, when I play my recording back it's only only on 1 channel. Also there is a lot of distortion when my bass parts come in, which is really frusterating. What can I do?!?

Yo 95 Floors of Pen:

I'm assuming you have a 4 track recorder?

Try recording your keys and guitar without panning. The pan dial should point straight up. Once you record the tracks, then you should be able to do some panning.

Also, when you record one track, do you put that track into the CUE mode so you can record the second track? [I'm not sure if that is the way your box works] I use a Yam MD-8 and after I record the drum track, that track must go to the CUE mode or really strange things happen; double track recording, loss of data, etc.

So, Check it out on the Tascam Clip Board of this site.

Hope this helps,
