have yamaha p120 keyboard hooked up to yamaha psr3000. psr3000 will only record 16 tracks. what is the best way to be able to record up to 100 tracks, then burn to dvd or cd? Computer? what kind-use to windows based. Software? this is for my son, who is 14, very talented with all instruments, symphonic, jazz, and marching band-keyboard and trombone.
Any help will be appreciated.

If your son just wants to record midi tracks there are a bunch of choices available from jazz++ to n-track. You can Google those for yourself.

If he wants to record, say, 100 tracks of trombone you are going to need one powerful computer. My Pentium4 3.2MHz comp with 2.5 gigs of Ram can only make it up to 75 or so. And that's without any fancy plugins to slow it down.

If it's both you're looking for, there a fairly new audio/midi sequencer called Reaper --- LINK --- that's quite easy to use. The manufacturer gives you 30 days to make sure it fits your needs before requiring you to pay the $40 shareware fee.

You'll need an interface no matter what software you decide on - here's a LINK to the one I use and recommend.
