New Song - I Try

I am getting pretty burnt out on this. Did this one, as always, in just a few hours. Trying to get the sibilance out of the vox, but I am having the damdest time.

Any thoughts?

Also, feel free to comment on the song, the lyrics, whatever. I always like criticism.

The song is called "I Try".

Thanks guys!

You might try some eq...see if you can find the offending sounds, and lower them. I track further from the mic, so that always helps me. What equipement are you using? I've had decent luck with the stock plugin in Audition with reducing sibilance, but I don't know how that might translate into what you use. digitalfishphones makes a de-esser that might help you, if you can use plugins.

Can you point me in the right direction to get that?
The fish one is www.digitalfishphones.com .The thing to get is the fish fillets. It's 3 plugins. They are free, and it has the D-esser. Just install them into your vst folder. They have instructions on teh site. Seems to work pretty good for me.

are you boosting the high end? if you are, stop. Its a good mix. I like the gits.
if you are using a mic that boosts the high end, roll it off. Get closer to the mic for proximity effect ie one inch to the mic.

Man, that fish thing is awesome. I'll try to rework them and post the updated version.

Hey Sean, good tune. Not getting a whole lot of sibilance. Are you taliking about cymbals or vocals? Maybe you uploaded the remix by now. The mix is pretty good - I would up the vocals in the verse a tiny bit. (Also need a parental advisory on this track). The snake sound is nice and snappy, and the guitars are good and crunchy. Vocals are well done and eq'd nicely....
Enjoyed this .....
