Have some fun with it. That is a big factor. It will eventually find it's way into your music.

Thanks to all...i feel much better about my singing, but whats the best way to feel like your singing from your gut....is there any easy lesson? By the way radiohead is sweet! and the white stripes are too...but we all know meg white sucks

so did ringo according to alot of people...but would the beatles be the same without him? imagine if they had keith moon or dave lombardo.

Also I know this sounds weird, but i tend to sing better when I smile. I think it helps to have your mouth open a bit more.

Take a big deep breath and let out a big deep sigh. That's wot it should feel like. Well that's what it feels like when i do it. I'm in no way a singer but i do try...when I'm alone in the house, lol.

For those of us who are old enough to remember 1973, Ringo had 2 number 1 singles, and a number 5 single, with his album peaking at Billboard number 2 and staying in the top 10 for a long time. That's a whole lot of people thinking he didn't suck. And it wasn't because he had a great voice, it was because he used what he had really well on really great songs. And no, it wasn't just because he was an ex Beatle, though that certainly didn't hurt. It was just a good record.
There are plenty of cases where mediocre singers have big hits and big careers, just as there are tons of gifted singers who evoke no response from the record buying public. The trick is making what you've got work to emote great songs.

that was exactly my point... same thing with drummers. the white stripes make what they have work, and create a very unique sound out of it. and ringo was the perfect drummer for the beatles, even though alot of people said he sucked because he played alot of simple beats.

There is an art to simplicity, and it is one of the hardest arts to perfect simply because of ego!

Phil Rudd of AC/DC never played a fill. As a drummer I have a hard time doing that, but you have to know what to do and when to do it. Sometimes it's best to never do it.

Yep, and he drummed AND sang those hits, which you could argue was two strikes against them, yet they were compelling recordings.
