I have been recording digital for a while and I recently purchased an Mbox just as an upgrade. What I want to know is what are some cheap ways to soundproof my room for recording. I have many ideas of what I can do but I want to get some second, third, fourth.... opinions if you know what I mean. I have hardwood floors and those old walls with slate boards and plasture. I want to say that all I should worry about is the door and the dead sound areas of the walls but I still would like to have some other opinions. I have looked into some cheap egg foam and other alternatives. If you have a moment and some ideas please let me know what you think.

Yeah, Ethan's articles are the best for home folks on a budget. If you follow his advice, you will be quite pleased.

Cardboard helps but milk cartons are better, and throw a rug on the floor. If you have styrophone that will work too
