Help with Sonar 4 studio edition please

Hello,

I have just purchassed cakewalk sonar 4 studio edition and am having trouble with it. I have a track imported into the program and have an MC/Rapper who wants to mc on the track. However when I record the vocals. It seems to be drifting and goes out of time even though he was rapping completely in time. Can anyone tell me wat setting s to change to sort this problem out thanks

Did you import a whole finished track? If you did, did you set the bpm's to the vocal track the same as the imported 1. Also what type of souncard do you have? A good sound card will decrease any latency problems.
