Sorry - lost track of this thread - wasn't ignoring you. I think you're heading down the right path overall.

Just remember to keep things flexible and remember that placement of the drums and especially the mix position is critical. Everything else can be tailored once you get those right.

Hey Bryan, . .No worries. . .
Thanks for the help!
I think Im getting a better handle on how to start treating this space . . .atleast Im getting closer!

Anyway, . . since you guys have been holding my hand through all this, and helping me out with all my wacko questions, I thought that I share a few photos of the space that I have been belly aching over for the past few weeks, . . so you guys can have a better visual reference, . rather than trying to decipher those one dimensional pdf diagrams. :D

Nice to see the actual room. Like chugheshc I'm jealous of the room you have to work with. I'd be tempted to split it into 2 rooms, but that's probs just me, lol.

That's a really nice looking room to start out in, i'm jealous too.

Are those M312b' s you have? (Mixers)

Hey Guys, . . Thanks for all the compliments, . . Yeah, you're right. . I am pretty lucky. If not for the low 8 foot ceiling, . . this space would be almost perfect. Eventually, I'm probably going to put in a separate control room, . .But, for now, my funds will only allow me to try and acoustically treat the room with a modest budget. . .

Some of the other perks with this space is that there is a full tiled bathroom, right next to this room, (which will be nice to record guitars, and some vocals, depending on the effect that your after) and the best part this space is that I can slam the crap out of those drums all night, and the noise levels are minimum upstairs in the family area. . .

Yep! You got good eyes Bill! That's a Tascam 312b, and a Tascam 308b. My recorder is a Tascam 38, 8 track 1/2" tape recorder. . . I am holding onto the 308, incase I ever upgrade to a 1" 16 track recorder, . .and then I would probably combine the tow so that I have a 20 channel mixer!

My equipment is all analog :D . . .except for a few 1980's digital reverbs and outboard effects. However, I do mixdown to a standalone pioneer cd burner, . .and eventually, I will probably want to have the capabilities of recording on tape, and then mixing down on a digital. But, for now its all analog.
