Whats up, im a rapper, but just recently getting serious with my music. Im recording with an SE X1 Condensor mic with a reflection filter, using a Behringer Xenyx 1204 USB mixer as my preamp/interface. I'm currently recording on audacity, but I will be switching to Pro Tools 11. The reason im posting is to ask why my vocals dont sound how I want them to. Is it a problem with my equipment? Or is it just a matter of production and mixing? I appreciate any help! If an example recording would help I can post one just let me know! Thanks

You are going to have to be WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY more specific on what you mean by "don't sound how I want them to"

I mean they just dont sound like high quality vocals. I want them to sound like proffesional vocals. Being recorded with an expensive mic, they dont sound how they should.

An example recording would definitely help. Let's do that. :)

Going on a hunch here but hold off on buying ProTools until you've had some advice.
Your software is not likely to be the problem.

Well, using a Behr Xenyx as your mic preamp/USB interface COULD be part of the problem. My limited experience with that line indicated that the mic preamps sucked.
