I need to find some mics to function as PA for concert choir and for recording as well. Anyone?

I just used my earthworks SR71's for this purpose. Nice results. I think the modern equivalent would be the SR30's. I mention EW's directional microphones because it sounds like you're going to use the same mics to amplify as well as record, right? The cardioid pattern should help with the feedback a little bit.
I've also used Shure SM81'a before. Thought it worked well at the time, but my ears are more tuned now - so who knows.

I have miked choirs for recording and PA.
The answer to your question depends a lot on the room.
In a quiet room, I love bidirectional-pattern mics in a Blumlein configuration. I get a glorious sound from two AEA R84s.
But if you can hear the air conditioning, audience coughing, etc., I would go with small-diaphragm condensor mics. The SM81 is a good choice for many things, including choirs, but really, you can go from pretty-darned cheap to very expensive and get good results.
For recording, fewer mics is better in order to avoid phase problems. For PA purposes, you will probably need more than 1 pair in order to get a decent balance.
Of course, there are mics made just for choirs, but they are intended for installed systems.

I'd try either the Oktavas (in X/Y with the Cardioids or Hypers), or the Oktavas wide spread (split the chorus into thirds) with the omnis.Big Kenny said:
