Hi to all!

I recorded a audio file with my piano: Chopin's Valzer 69 n2, and I feel the sound not deep and metallic... I recorded using a Mobile Pre Usb connected via Aux Out to my digital piano.

I understood that I can enhance the sound by equalizing it... But I don't understand anything about it.

Can please someone download my wav file and give me an advice?

Thanks a lot.

Somewhere in the low-mids you could do with a boost. Start by knocking back the higher frequencies and the very low end to find the range you need to be working with. Then bring everything else up gently until it sounds balanced. It's often best to cut other frequencies and add a little gain than to boost everything through the roof. There isn't really a set rule other than that. What works and what sounds right - is right. Also make sure you get into the 'sweet spot' of the stereo triangle and try to focus on using your ears, rather than measuring visually. What you hear is what counts. Before you start, ensure that any tone controls and/ or EQ on equipment (amp/ mixer etc) in your listening environment are zeroed (tone neutral) unless you have them set to compensate for the room in the first place.

Do some reading. Equalizing is shaping the tonal frequencies of the music. At its most basic, EQ is bass and treble. At the other end are narrow-band equalizers (for example 31 band covering small frequency ranges from bass to treble).
