Help With Editing

Hey guys, I have pro tools le 8.0.4 and I'm having some trouble editing. It only lets me edit anything to every measure. And it doesnt let me do anything besides that. So if i trim something it has to be every measure. Can somebody help me out, thanks
 
I don't know Protools, but most programs have a grid system with a choice to "Snap to Grid" or the ability to "Uncheck" that option to allow freeform edits.
Check your edit preferences and options.
