I am trying to data back up/song back up and I get a message....it's too large....return home.
I think this has something to do with partitioning the sd card. I can't seem to understand this partitioning stuff....my card was already formatted when I got the unit.
I am afraid to go further with this part till I get some help as it requires erasing.

Thanks,pianofrank

Try backup up/exporting one track at a time, pulling it off onto your computer via USB, delete the file in the "wav" directory of the SD card, disconnect, and repeat with the next track.

disclaimer: my experience is with the 2488 neo, but I think the principle is the same. Your SD card was likely partioned into multiple volumes - meaning, on one card, a computer would see multiple "drives". Tascam's devices usually set up one or more partitions for actual recording, and another partition for data export. Your SD card is too small to handle exporting all the tracks of audio at once. As mentioned above, export them one at a time, and after you've copied one track to PC via USB, while still on the PC, delete the file that is in the mounted Tascam drive before you export the next track.

a side note for the sd card: don't waste your $ on a 4G card. the unit will only see 2G of it. it will only recognize a larger partition if you use 8G or more.
