I am new to recording. I have only recorded two songs on my computer with a computer mic so that is the extent of my knowledge. Now I have cool edit, a delta 44 and a little eurorack MX 802A(I am on a budget). below is a diagram of the mixer. Now that I have all of this and the instruments and a couple of mics I am not sure how to hook the mixer up to the sound card. I need to know what cords to buy and if there are different ways then the one that produces the least amount of noise would be best.

You need an xlr cable (also known as a mic cable) for your microphones. You can use any of your outputs to send the signal to your Delta 44. The Aux send will work fine, but there is probably a send level knob you will have to turn up and it may introduce some extra noise. Your Main Outs or Control Room Outs are probably your best bets. If they are noisy you can try the headphone output or the Tape Out (although you will need a special cord for using the Tape Out).

Hope this helps.

so you think control room outs. this would just require a trs cable?

Since the Delta 44's breakout-box utilizes bal'd or unbal'd 1/4" connections, the "MAIN-OUTS" of your 802 (which are bal'd and offer a 3-4 db boost in gain over the "TAPE-OUTS" ) should be cabled to the 44's "IN'S" of which has been constructed with an output mode in stereo.

I noticed that there is a left and a right main out on the board. does that mean I need to use both? thanks for any responses.
