Hey,
So this is my first post on this forum, but I have been using for a while to read up on reviews and the like. Anyway, I was hoping that you guys could help me narrow down some choice for a second microphone, I apologize if this has been covered already...
Right now I have a sm57, which I use for pretty much everything, live and at home for recording. What I am looking for to supplement it is a mic to use live (I lead worship at church) that would also be useful at home to provide a different sound option than the sm57. It would be nice to have a another mic I could use on say a piano, an acoustic guitar, bongos. It preferably needs to be a handheld-type mic and needs to have a windscreen/pop filter built in, because I have terrible mic technique and I pop all over the place.
I have thought about just getting a sm58, but I have used them a lot and they just don't sound that good on my voice to me, and I always feel like I have to almost swallow the mic to be heard, it would nice to have something a little more sensitive.
What would you suggest? Price is a bit of an issue as I am a student right now. Also, keep in mind that this mic doesn't have to be perfect on everything, just sound good on vocals and decent/passable on other sources. Thanks in advance for helping me out.
