Hey I'm a totally noobie at this and borrowed my friend's BR-8 to help my band record our live shows and demo stuff. We wanted to record an upcoming show and I'm looking for the 'idiot's guide" to doing an audience recording for this. Like where should I plug in the mic and what should I do?

Thanks!

Suggest you get the "owner" of the BR8 to record for you. There is just TOO much to explain. Even if you borrowed the manual from the owner, it takes a while to learn to navigate the box. Most SIABs navigate in a similar fashion. Thus, once you really learn one type, like the Yamaha, Boss and Roland have similar/related functions.

A studio in a box is a miniature PC type recording; usually you don't have a mouse but some do; but, you click to move the cursor to whatever menu/function you need. Also, the SIAB has a small screen; the PC programs usually have large screens.

Best bet for you is to hire someone/owner who knows what and where to plug in and activate tracks.

Good luck
