If anyone out there has one of these Fostex CR300 cd recorder, I can use a little help.
I recently purchased one of these one of these New Old Stock models, but the box was sealed and never opened. When I opened the box I noticed that the recorder came without the rack ears attached. The rack ears and screws were in a separate bag.
Now the problem is when I tried to bolt on the rack ears, there are 4 holes on the rack ears (2 on the bottom, and 2 on the top). But, on the recorder chassis itself there is only 2 screws (2 on the bottom) So, there is no place to screw in the top two screws of the ears rack. which might account for the reason i got it so cheap
So, I'm wondering could I remove the hood, or the bonnet and just drill two additional holes in the chassis to accommodate the missing holes, so that I can attach the rack ears. If anyone has this recorder, and can help me out, and tell me what the rack ear screws attach to, that would be a lot of help.
