My daughter is taking her jazz degree at Humber College out in Ontario and they're getting into studio production. She just got a MacBook Pro (she got the little 13" screen so she can haul it around). She needs an interface to start recording. I've given her a small Behringer mixer with effects, a Behringer C1 condenser, a Shure SM58. Since she has a mixer for preamps she just needs an interface. Might as well be Firewire as the computer has it. She's just starting out and the budget is wee tiny.
I thought the MacBook Pro might have some kind of built in interface but I didn't see any inputs (like a 1/8 stereo). Originally I thought she might just be able to plug the mixer into the computer. Is there a simple interface without preamps, using firewire?

How about this?

Behringer FCA202 I think I heard someone mention that its actually pretty good. Just stick the main outs into the two Jack inputs and your away!

Always go ebay if possible. You can get all of this stuff at 50% and if you buy from a reputible seller, you're good to go.
