I have a customized '74 Thinline Tele (original). I've kept the neck WR humbucker and have put a Duncan Vintage Tele single coil in the bridge. I love the sound of the guitar, but I'm getting a strange set of high frequencies that are very difficult to EQ out of the tone.
I'm using the Line 6 Gearbox plug in, along with Waves EQ's. Any ideas for how to help with this? I don't quite understand it, but even with a substantial EQ cut, I can't find the right frequency range to get rid of the unwanted tones.
Thanks for any advice!

can you post a clip of just the gtr?

Thanks very much! I've uploaded a sample of the guitar by itself to this website:

It's the only track listed, called "50's ballad..."
I'm getting something in the very high frequency range that I just can't seem to EQ out. It sounds almost ultrasonic, and is somewhat similar to the HF you sometimes hear on an older TV set. I get it whether the sound is processed or unprocessed (the track above is processed, Line 6 Gearbox plugin).

Thanks a lot for any advice!

I wish Email notification worked...

not being sure what you're after but the clip is tinny and thin... little bottom and mids.

sounds like a bridge single pole PUP.

I'm not familiar with the plugin you mention so I'm not going to be of much help.

I noticed how overly loud your high E string is when you are really banging away. There might be a rather uneven-ness in individual string volume. Try recording one plucked string at a time and compare the volume of each string, then adjust pickup heighth until they are a little more even. If they won't even out, you might have a bad pickup pole piece, if that's possible?
