HELP Tascam 2488 neo lost data!

On my TASCAM 2488 neo I burned my songs to a CD and now the HD is wipe out and all my data is missing. Is this normal or is this a malfunction? Also.. ths songs on the CD we burned will not play back on my laptop PC but will play on the CD player of the recorder 2488 neo but we cant retrieve the songs off the CD to put back in the recorder. Can anyone help us... we cant seem to get any tech support to respond.

Burning songs to a CD should have no effect on what is stored on your hard drive. Unless you had a hard disk crash, or inadvertently erased your music through the main menu, the music should still be there.

If you recorded your songs to a CD-RW there's a good chance that a CD player will not play it. I burn all mine to a CD-R.

The owner's manual cautions against using CD stablizers, or printable CDs, as they may damage the CD mechanism.

Also, check to ensure that your currently selected hard disk partition is the one with all your music on it.
