I have been struggling with this and it is probably a very simple issue.
I am running Cubase LE on Windows XP. The Cubase LE came bundled with a Lexicon Lambda. I have an Alesis SR-16 Drum Machine but cannot get my MIDI Setup working.
What I am trying to do is use the Alesis patterns (and voices if possible) and record them to the Cubase setup. (the MIDI Data so I can assign voices etc).
I am writing songs am need good quality backing drum tracks as an end result (and would like to assign each cymbal, drum, etc to individual tracks for mixing purposes).
I would like to utilize my current gear and not go with EZ Drummer or Groove Agent which are costly and also don't provide DEMO versions to try out.
PLEASE ANYONE - HELP!
