HELP! Seperating mixer tracks on Cool Edit 2.0

Hello i am buying the "Behringer Eurorack UB1204FX-PRO Mixer"
and i currently have a
Compaqu Persario with Cool Edit Pro 2.0
and a standard stock soundcard (line in,line out,mic in)
I am recording through the mixer and into the computer the only problem is that i want to seperate tracks on Multitrack view if that is possible.
For example if i recorded snare,kick,and overhead through the mixer it all comes out to be one track on Cool Edit.
Is there a certain way to setup the mixer to the computer to do this or do i have to change the settings on my Cool Edit Pro 2.0?

i know absolutely NOTHING about cool edit.

but.....

With that stock sound card, you can record no more that 2 tracks at one time. (l/r in).

the advantage of using the behri mixer is that you can mix the 5 or so mic's for the drum kit into a "stereo" output, then feed that to the line in on the card.

i'm sure the software has a setting somewhere to determine if you are recording a "mono" or "stereo" track when you start.
