And here the back of my Monitors !

PLEASE HELP WHAT CABLE DO I NEED FOR BEST QUALITY AND HOW MANY !!!!

Looks like the Tascam only gives unbalanced RCA outs, so just get RCA to RCA leads to connect from output of Tascam to input of speaker.

You need two RCA/Phono cables, one for the left speaker and one for the right. A lot come with L/R pairs stuck together in one cable but you only need singles. (If you have trouble finding them, nothing will be hurt if you just buy two stereo cables and only use half of each one.

Before you ask, assuming the Tascam is in a convenient location, just set the speaker volume to the 0dB position and use the monitor knob on the interface to adjust your levels (if this is too quiet, move both speakers up by the same amount--but start at 0dB.

Leave the "HF Level" knob on the speakers at 0dB unless you have a darn good reason to change it.

Now that has been answered,

Threads that start with: Help please help !!!!!!!!! (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) tend to get a bit tedious, a bit like "the boy that cried wolf".

Please make future titles the actual question.

And I am sure that both the manual for the Tascam and the Monitors would have told you how to connect it and adjust the settings.

Alan.

and all caps is unlikely to make us feel a sense of urgency.

:D

And seriously dude, if that question foxed you, you've got a world of pain a-comin'...

But good luck. We all start somewhere....

haha! I'm always amazed by people who don't understand simple cable or adapter options, too.

This one is the only one i can find. ?? http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/512pqpMfegL._AA160_.jpg

A specialist shop (as opposed to Amazon) would have single RCA cables but, if they're cheap enough, just buy two of those ones and use one conductor of each--it won't hurt anything and gives you a spare when (as inevitably happens) a connector breaks.

If it's the type that i think it is, the two cables are only joined together by a thin web of rubber. They should be easy to gently pull apart until you have a large Y shape that will stretch across the gap between your speakers. I've had to do that with several cables and never had a problem, but take care. As Bobbsy said, a spare never hurts though.

Good luck with it.

Chris

I considered advising the same as Hakea...it's something I've done and it usually works. However, just occasionally the "peeling apart" process can damage the insulation on one of the two sides and cause a problem. I've usually bought RCA cords a bunch at a time so it's not a disaster...but if you only have one (and have paid shipping on it) it could cause some strong language!

That photo you posted sucks, because the labels for the rear panel are on the top, and its the only thing that cannot be read in the photo.

Page 8 of your manual tells you exactly how to do it. Did you look at the manual yet?

Armistice is right, if this part has you stumped, you may already be in over your head. No offense, but there is a certain minimum level of effort you have to give of yourself to get started, and the most basic home recording forum helpers cannot hold your hand to get over that first pebble in the road. Common sense would tell you to turn all the knobs completely off, hook up some cables, turn everything on, talk into the mic, and start turning up knobs until you hear something. If you hear your voice, Congratulations. If you hear something else, turn it all off, change something, and start over........

And anybody who is willing to hold your hand for this particular question, probably has ulterior motives.......

what are you talking about?
It's all labelled on the back panel except for the mic inputs which are pretty self explanatory

You're too far east, you have a 1 hour advantage on me, LT......your brain is already in second gear.

Where I come from, XLR inputs are always on the front, the rear panel only has outputs and 1/4 inch ins. Seems strange that they would put 6 XLR inputs on a device that only has unbalanced rca outputs.

This has nothing to do with what i asked.

This might sound like a dumb question, Iwanna, but did neither the interface manual or the monitor manual tell you how to connect things ? That should be default info, unless you have the manual to neither.
Anyway, case closed, you have 5 profitable answers.
Now for the good bit, eh ?
