help please Emu 0202

today i begun searching for ways to increase the quality of my recordings. I have noticed my 0202 is recording on a USB 2.0 connection sampling at 44.1khz.

From reading the manual i understand there is no direct monitor at 192khz which is not a problem as i can just monitor through the DAW. however when i turn cubase on, the emu flicks back to 44.1khz.

why is it doing this?

I know i am cheating a bit by recording via pod 2.0 to usb and not using a mic/speaker method, but is it really impossible to get a decent sound??? maybe the pod is holding me back.

is there anything else i am missing?
 
Check "project set-up" in cubase. There are settings for sample and bit rate. You may have to have them on the settings you want for the card to comply.
 
thanks for that, iv managed to get the sampling up to 96khz.

any other ideas how i can improve the clarity of the guitar signal with the gear i have?
