In CE 2000 it's Transform-Amplitude-Amplify, then choose the "Centre Waveform" preset. It's probably similar in CEP 1.2

Cheers

OK DC offset problem fixed.

Are there any other comments on maybe the EQ?

How about the rooms?

er.....

Bruce maybe you failed to read the title of this thread but CD RELEASE PARTY ON FRIDAY!!! I've got NO TIME!!! It took me months just to get the mixes as good as you heard with the little time I have any more to devote to music. I'm so busy with working, the kids, and rehearsing for teh upcoming shows that remixing those songs is not a possibility at this point. I have decided that when we release the full length, which WILL include these songs, I'm going to have someone that knows what they're doing do the mixing and mastering.

I'm just trying to make the best of what we've got!

C'mon Bruce lend a guy a hand here!

What say I overnight you the sessions on CD-R, you remix and master them, then send them back to me COD? :D

Send 'em here fellow rodent (I was also born in Detroit). I'll mix 'em for you.

whoa....

I was waiting for somebody to step up. I DEFINITELY wanna' hear how this works out.

Cool place, cool people.

What, are crawdad's arms painted on??  :D

Good idea Track Rat; but I'm wondering why rats & crawdad don't hook up. They's both in Deee-Troit (maybe Tha Crawfather's just a busy man??? )

Actually T.R., we'd all love to hear your mix  And we're STILL waiting for that WATYF/dres collab that seems to have been erased from history

:D

Ha ha!!! This ought to be good!:D Lets just hope too many rats don't spoil the mix!

A true rodent product we'll have going here!

not for Rats, they aren't:eek:

I don't know about bears, though. I thought I've heard of them looting picnic baskets and the such too....

Downloading now.

I am Curious Rats, have you TRIED to master it? I know the Pro's here poo-poo on that, but here is my take:

1. I record a tune

2. Mix it.

3 Run it through L1 plug-in, preset setting.

Is it mastered correctly? Not even Close.

Does it sound a lot better? Damn Straight.

Will listen in a few. @^%#^ Dial-up:mad:

Hmmm. Decent tune. Not the best mix as Bruce said, but that is not your question.

I downloaded your first tune, put it into SONAR, and used the L1utramax plug in, preset setting 2e I think.

Better? OH MAN, is it better. No comparision. I A/B listened several times.

Let me put it this way: Since you do not have time to remix or send it to a mastering house, I STRONGLY suggest you do what I did and try the L1 Utramax, if you have it. It may not be the proper way to do things, but I have good ears and good monitors,it is a big improvement.

do they make a plugin like the l1 utramax for cubase sx? Can I master in Cubase SX?

ok cool. is the l2 the same? Also, where can I get either for a reasonable price

Wow, what an eye-opening thread.

I have never been that interested in the mixing/mastering stuff, since I am a pro player. I go to sessions and do my thing, the engineers then do there thing.

That being said, I just messed with this song for an hour. I used L1, SoundForge (only a demo, but it is functional for two minutes), and my mixer. I have a Spirit F1, and today was the first day I have touched the EQ. I did everything "by ear", I just fucked with presets, knobs and doodads until it sounded good. I do understand that my music background is unique and I do "Bigtime" stuff, but as a Home Recordist I am just a typical member.

The results: Holy Crap!! I do understand Bruce and his Pro stance. He is right, and if I was in his shoes, I would feel the same way. HOWEVER, I am stunned at what I could do with this.
I tried lots of tricks, and the sound is SOOOOOOOOOO much better now.

It may be polishing a turd, but at least the turd doesnt smell now. Too bad I cant save with the Sound Forge demo, or else I would post it so people could hear the difference.

For my personal turd buffing I dig the L1, Timeworks Mastering compressor and EQ and the C4 ain't bad either.
(Not all at the same time of course)
