I am using a cfx-12 mixer and running the tape out into the line-in on my sound card. I am also running the line-out of the sound card to the tape-in on the mixer. I am getting the other tracks that I am monitoring, into the track I am recording. Is there any way to set this up so that I can monitor it, and it doesnt bleed into my recording track? I am using the headphone out on the mixer to monitor. how should I do this?

I am using Cubase sx3 to record.

I had this very same problem...didn't even know it was happening until I started to mix :D !

The way you have it set up now, Cubase will record whatever audio that you're monitoring onto the track that you are currently recording. You'll have to send the aux output on your mixer to the inputs of your soundcard...and then the control room outs to your monitors (might be a little different on your particular mixer).

Check out this great article on different ways to set up your mixer so you don't run into this problem: http://www.tweakheadz.com/how_to_hookup_a_mixer.htm

And what soundcard are you using?

RAD! Thank you so much man, I'm sure it will work fine.
