OK-Ive got a tmd-1000 which I TDIF into cakewalk - Pent4 -Its been a large learning curve-but I'm kinda getting the hang of it all. Luckily, one of the guys in my band has more than a little cash to spare, and hes looking at a dm-24. Me being the frugal one(and the one who has to learn new equipment) has suggested that we might be able to upgrade what we have. I also realize my recording skills are the area where the greatest improvement can take place-but thats another story...
My question to you tascam experts: What is the weakness of our setup? and What would be the best upgrade to what we have ? Should we look at a MOTU interface and just bypass our board? Seems like the 20 bit limit of the tmd could be its ultimate weakness. Any comments? Thanks.
