hi everyone, in a couple years as thing become a bit more financially stable, i plan on taking on the big project of finishing my unfinished basement...its perfect because theres nothing down there, so i can use my vision of exactly how i want to constuct things...
i dont have exact measurments right now, i'll update when i do, i think the basement is in the ball park of 30-35ft/25-30ft my goal is to contruct on one side, a studio with a bathroom on the back of it...and the open area to be a rec room so to speak...my two questions as follows:
for only the studio room, is there a material i can use to put in the walls and/or cielings for effective sound proofing as to not disturb the rest of the house. also, to anyone in the know, how much could you expect i'd pay or a project like this: i'm tiling the whole floor, dry wall, ceiling, pot lights, bathroom/plumbing etc. to hire a contractor, any ideas (i know this is very vague, i just want to prepare myself for the damage. heres a really bad ms-paint sketch of my blueprint:
sorry the image is so small...bottom left studio, top bathroom open area, rec room.
oh ps. this is a one man studio, as i'm a television composer, and use mostly software to create music...hence why its not a "huge' space such as that of a band. (however, the pic isn't exactly to scale)

But only on TWO leaves of a MASS AIR MASS assembly, with. If you plan on designing this space yourself as well as specifying the Transmission Loss rating of the assemblies, it would behoove you to learn what these terms refer to, and how they relate to your isolation requirements.
