Iv'e just completed a House track & burn't a copy to CD after compressing & normalizing it. I intend to then press this to vinyl but need everything pefect before doing this.

The track sounds a bit flat & iv'e been told to master it, ie EQ it to bring some of the middle out. What are the best settings if i want to use my preffered software - Soundforge 4.5. I intent to put this track to vinyl record so need all the help i can get.

many thanks

Unless you have years & years of vinyl mastering experience, STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING and go to a vinyl mastering specialist.

. . . and another GIGANTIC boost around 20-30 hz. That'll give you a lot of that thumpin' sub bass . . .

. . . thump!

. . . thump!

Mastering to vinyl is UNFORGIVING. It has to be done *right* or the whole process is moot. You cannot do this at home! Go to a pro ASAP.

Go to a pro. Forget about it for now.

Actually -

Go back to the UNCOMPRESSED and normalized version and send THAT to the mastering house.

Any wrongly applied compression on there may have permanently damaged it already. Go back to the straight mix and LET THE MASTERING ENGINEER MASTER IT.
