Hi! I’m the new owner of a Korg Stage Echo se-500.

There’s a filter cap right where the AC line goes into the unit.

I am confused by its markings. Any help? I want to replace it because I doubt it’s doing its job anymore.

The schematic says .033 uF, voltage not listed.

Can someone tell me what capacitance and voltage would be appropriate? Also, this is a non-polarized film cap, right?

I’ll be sure to discharge the cap carefully before touching it!

Update: it’s a 250 volt Metalized Polypropylene safety capacitor. I still don’t know what to use to replace it.

Why do you doubt it’s doing its job? It’s a spark arrestor cap. It doesn’t filter or shunt anything. It’s a blocking cap but just for safety. What problems are you having? You can use any poly film cap of the same value, but first why do you suspect that cap is causing trouble? And what trouble are you having?

you’re the best! No problems. It’s just sooo old and it looks like it’s falling apart so I figured I’d better put a new one in there.
