HELP!!! Final advice for Lenny Kravitz Believe in Me contest REMIX!!!

Hi all. It's been a while since I've posted a mix for your review. I've taken all of your previous lessons to heart and am panning and everything else...lovin' the crossover/fade plug in.

If you haven't heard the ORIGINAL version of this song...oh well, if you have...you'll hear the 'modifications' I've mad. That's me on the female vox...ummm, i added the piano line, replaced his drums with mine and adjusted the layout...basically the only thing that stayed the same was the bpm's at 120.

It is due by the 14th...i am looking for any and all comments and 'laundry lists' of what the heck to change. I've still got some rough spots and have been working on it non-stop for a week. I NEED HELP from the PROS. CYAN JAGUAR WHERE ARE YOU!!!

CRAP!!! Hold ON! I'm ON IT!!! Actually. It's not taking you to a PAGE...anywhere...it should play upon start up if you have windows media player. But if it's not even taking you to the page. Ooops. Lemme know so I can fix my code.

You need to put 'http://' in front of your HREF for the download on that page, and further, for any link.

Relative links rarely work on free hosts.

Don't worry about the link for the href code....it never works...i forgot to erase it. But it should have the cute lil' mini console on screen beneath the text. The song should just play. i've got the thing embedded...have NO idea why it WON'T GO!!! It worked at HOME! GRRRRR!!!

Try deleting the space in the link code? The space between the words OF and THE is converted to %20.

Or perhaps you uploaded the file into a different directory... and check the file name. :)
 
Trust me on the relative links, that is exactly what the problem is with the downloads.

The code you are using for the embedded player:

It's, well, a very proprietary way to embed RealMedia. And of course, requires you have RealPlayer netscape/ie plugin installed, and properly associated to the x-pn-realaudio-plugin mime type.

The biggest issue you will have is cross-compatibility. For eg., the embed code you used above will work on an average of 20% of users machines only.

Ah HA! Thanks for the info. I'm heading to real player. Although I'm at work and can't download crap...until i get home in 2 hours...but....I can fuss with it. I'll try the new code also. OR...can you let me know of somewhere I can slam it up at ASAP in the meanwhile so I can get much needed help. I plan on knocking out the last of the bugs in this bad boy. from 2-7am CST....

Nice groove....nice use of reverb and effect to add depth....real nice vocal arrangement....the one thing that threw me was the varied overall volume level throughout the song....was that purposely done to add more dynamic to the work?...during the loud parts it's definitely clipping....I can hear the digital distortion "pops"....in time pretty much but I don't think you want that....those sections are a little too hot and should be backed down to get rid of the "pops".

I'm fussing with the bits where i hear those pops...let's see. The volume hike in the loudest part is actually a HUGE mistake. But I kind of like it...I'm dropping the levels...but am not going to make it 100% even.

I'm not happy with the 'clipping' it's taking a while to correct. Thanks so much all. :)

Your critiques are always powerpacked with helpful hints and you really take time to listen. I've always taken massive knowledge away from these mp3 mixing clinics...and also listening to others posts...although i don't feel qualified to reply.

THIS is GOOD. I dropped the drums in the breakdowns to a bit more acceptable level. I'm frustrated and can clean up no more 'clips'. I'm going to leave it 'as is' on that...at least they are on beat, huh?

OK. Thanks all. Really. If it wasn't for your help in the beginning...this would of been nothing but a pipe dream.
