Help. Computer wont Pick up microphone.

Today i purchased the apex 435 and a us-122l tascam interface. It however was used and didnt not come with cubase ( the music shop sold all the smaller new interfaces.) so i installed the drives and the interface picks up he sound from the mic but the computer does not pick up any sound. Im using sony acid.n
