lol.

Google "Audacity", download it, and install it.
Buy a Nady Powerstar from somewhere (they are like 8 bucks)
Get a Behringer mixer with IMPs.
Finally, run a cable from the tape out into the line in on your computer, and you are set.

All in all... it will cost about $45. You can get a two channel mixer from Behringer for about 30 dollars or so. This would probably be an all right start without having to spend gobs of ca$h.

not only audacity but there is another program which is also free called krystal which is pretty good, you might want to try them both out and see which you like better(they both have the same capabilites for the most part just differnt interfaces and work in different ways)

if you dont mind paying some a used m audio delta 2496 off ebay for about 60 bucks then a used dmp3 for for about 50 and then a used studio projects b1 for about 60 as well. if you can find these deals you are looking at 170 for a really solid setup that will definately have a good soudn for acoustic and vocals (new this would be 350 but looking on ebay those items appear to be going for aroudn those prices)

You might look into Goldwave. Its free, and the mp3 conversion is o.k..

I've never seen a DMP3 for that cheap, used or even BROKEN! I'd recomend the DMPS too, just wouldn't be 50.....maybe 80+.

Its $55, and just looks like an editing program, no recording. I could be wrong

I've tried all the freebies. Reaper is usable. For me, the rest plain o' sucked.

The free music player JetAudio has a recording function, along with other goodies. Great product.
