I'm new here so hello everyone. I think I know the answer to my question but I'm gonna try anyway. I've been using Cubase more or less forever. I've stopped updating because I'm happy with Cubase 5 on my G5.

BUT, I have an old Mac LC475 with Cubase 3.2 on it. I want to access some of my ancient song files but 3.2 crashes the computer every time I try to open it. All of the other programs on the computer work. I'm vainly trying to avoid copying things to a Zip drive and putting them on a G3 I have with VST 32 on it.

Any ideas? Anybody old enough to sympathize?

Is there a reason you don't just copy the files to the computer with Cubase 5 on it and open them there?

There is one reason. Laziness... seriously the only way I have to do that is by loading them onto a Zip drive and then onto the G3 but that is cumbersome and time consuming. It has been so long since I worked with these songs I'd feel better opening them on the LC475 just so I can see the way they were left.

I know it's a long shot but just thought I'd ask.

Yea, wow - I haven't even seen a zip drive in about 15 years. I don't think you're going to get any ideas about getting Cubase to open, short of reinstalling it, I suppose, if you can. If I recall correctly - some of those LC475s had an ethernet port installed in the PDS slot (or whatever that slot was called). If yours does, a network transfer to the G5 would likely be less tedious than messing with zip drives.
