Hello all,

I've tried to remove much more low end to make it sound like it does now. I have to admit I like it better now.

Dogman, thanks so much for constantly reminding me to tame that boominess. :)

Older versions:
The Jam - v1.0 - http://www.soundclick.com/bands/songInfo.cfm?bandID=419303&songID=4512694
The Jam - v2.0 - http://www.soundclick.com/bands/songInfo.cfm?bandID=419303&songID=4560465

So after many version I have version 3.0 I'd appreciate any listens and comments on the mix, arragement, playing, skill, and production. :)

Thanks all.

Sounding much better man...the low end doesn't seem to get away and take over like before. Bass seems to have a nice pocket, and not take too much from the rest of the low end. It might still sound a bit fuller if you could bring a few things out a bit more..some of the stuff in the mids, like certain drum sounds now have room and might fill it up. Just a matter of playing with those sounds. Too much, and you could make it muddy, but you made room for some expansion, if you want to.

Best one yet man. Love the vibe.

Thanks for the listening and commenting, man! :) I really appreciate your input on this mix all along.

Interesting point you bring up about bringing in some mids. Possibly on the drums I could play around. That's a superb idea. It could make my drums sound a little closer to acceptable. :)

I could also probably take one of the guitars and try to give some mid boost.

I really appreciate your comments in making this sound like this. I have listened to the older ones and I also like this one a lot better. :)

Thanks again. :)

Yep, sounds really good. has a bit of a scooped tone at present but if you do as Dogman reccomends & develop hose things that alreadye xist 7 have mid freq. leanings you'll fill that well.
Excellent development thus far.

Hey Bubba, I heard version 1 of this. I remember the bass being too powerful, sounds just right on my system now. Lead guitar sounds better too, cool tone  Maybe the rhythm guitar could come up a bit or be adjusted as Dogman Ray are saying. A little more power on that would sound cool. Other than that I think you've nailed this one, good piece ;)

rayc - Ray, thanks for listening again and again. :) I'm glad you like it. Now that the consensus is on the mids, I could try a few thing to fill in the space there and probably have a more dynamic mix. :)

SnakeDog5050 - Hey dude, thank for listening again. :) Long time no pirate posting man. Don't lose the mojo there, man! :p. Ok, maybe I can apply the mid settings to the rhythms a little or something and see how it sounds. :) Thanks again. :)

Nicole_Rose - Hey Nicole, thanks for listening and commenting. I appreciate it. :) I'm glad you like it.

Now, you all wait till I add an interval, verse #2, and an outro....possibly. I think this might be a 7 minute song or something. :)

No prob Bubba, good tune! Yeah I've been so busy the last few weeks, but finally got some free time coming up, so I gotta catch up around here mate, AARRRGGGHH!!! :)

Hey BigBubba - love the lead tone you're getting on this (third) cut. I agree that the rhythm could come up a bit. You can either push the fader or eq (maybe mids around 1.5-2.0). The rest sounds really nice....good arrangement and playing on all the parts...

Ido, thanks for listening again and commenting. :) I appreciate it. :)

Just to be clear when you're all saying rhythm, you're refering to the rhythm that plays constantly and not the bangers that mimick the bass?? Or the main melody rhythm that goes with the bass?

Anyway, I'm gonna finish the rest of the song soon. :)

Thank again man for chiming in. I'm actually getting less afraid of doing re-takes with different tones and playing songs all the way thru instead of punching thru or going measures at a time. :)

I really like your drum sounds on this.....the whole tune rocks...killer arrangment and playing.I really don't have any nits....sounding great on my headphones right now..... This rocks!

Hey man, thanks very much for listening and commenting. I'm glad you like it. I'm currently working on appending an interval and adding a second verse and an outro. We'll see if I manage to keep it like this. :)

Thanks for the comments on the drums. Mine are always sounding very fake.

Thanks again. :)

On headphones here, it's sounding good. I think you've got a pretty balanced mix. The only thing I'd look at would be the heavy rythym guitar - I like the sound of it but it's quiet in comparison to the rest.
On the arrangement side, I was waiting for the cool intro riff to come back. It would be good to work that in again imo. Real nice melodies though, cool tune

I remember this one !!

Hey Bubba...I love how it starts out with a Middle eastern sound, going subtley to a Spanish take, then an Italian spagetti western flavour back to the spanish...really eclectic sounding.

I like the tone on your lead. Very tight sounding.

Mix sounds good to me.

Nice one Bubba !!!

True :)

I've only heard 3.0. Cool instrumental. Mix sounds good. Don't get me wrong, I realize everyone doesn't have a drum kit and a drummer laying around but the tune would be SOOO MUCH BETTER witha real drummer. Where it stands out the most are parts like between 1:00 and 1:30. The machine doesn't flatter what would would otherwise have your intended drama of the stops. Other than that, very cool. Carry on. :D

Bulls Hit - Thanks for listening and commenting. I appreciate it . :) The rhyhtm guitar is pretty quiet according to everyone. I tried to keep it low so when the banger guitars come in (the ones that go bang bang at the top of each measure) they could impart maximum bang. But I guess I'll turn up the rhythms and bring out the mids in the bangers and see how that goes. Or maybe adding mids to the rhythms will put in a new perspective. :)

true-eurt - Thanks for listening and commenting, True. I appreciate it. :) I like yer description of "I love how it starts out with a Middle eastern sound, going subtley to a Spanish take, then an Italian spagetti western flavour back to the spanish". I'm glad you like it. If it can make someone go, "cool" then I'm happy with that performance. The tune itself is, of course, not mine. Just the intervals and the arrangement that I do. :)

Track Rat - Hey thanks for listening and commenting. I appreciate it. :) You say "drummer laying around" like drummers are instruments also. :D. The machine is my FLStudio 4.0 and I'll try to make it a little more dynamic. I'll listen to the interval you point out when I get home and see if I can make more dynamic in all such areas. I think I know which area you're talking about. :) One day I might learn drums a little too just to be dangerous enough. :) For now, I'm gonna focus on adding the interval, verse, and ending to this. :)

Thanks again to all for listening. :) I appreciate all of you giving your input 'coz I do listen to the input. I just don't post remixes quite as often. But on this one I'm intent on posting all remixes until it's a good mix according to all.

Very cool man, this mix really cleared up alot. I'm certainly a fan of the song. I got nothing to really pick at, really like it. Great job man

take care
