Cool combination of electronic & acoustic sounds - nice balanced mix. One very minor (super-picky) thing that's probably just a personal taste matter is the snare sound... it really suits the song, but it kinda sounds like a one-shot sample, or at least a sample with not many velocity layers...sorta draws attention to itself unnecessarily IMO - like a guy shouting the same word over & over.

Great job!

EXCELLENT remake.
I enjoyed the noodles of electronica greatly - slight touches of what the Residents did with Mars Attacks etc.
Cool as...

Thanks ray :). I enjoyed the noodles too. So different for me to play along with these kinds of sounds. Just what I wanted on this track!

Really nice! I haven't heard the original, so it's fun to speculate about exactly what KC added.

Sounds great on my system - I like the panned vox.

Like arcadeko maybe I hear a little Atom Heart Mother, which is kickass.

If I had an ipod, this would go on it.

Thanks a bunch chef :). I used to own a cassette of Atom Heart Mother back in the day. I remember I loved it when I was like 15 or whatever...long since lost. I remember thinking I was cool, 'cause it was kinda obscure and I was the only one I knew that owned it...what the heck was on that album? I'll have to check.

The original is still on my soundclick page if anyone cares to hear it:

Much faster tempo, done with a drum loop from a guitar pedal and recorded on 8-track cassette. Simple and fun was what I was going for then. This version was intended to be crazy and a bit darker. You will hear that kc added quite a lot to the whole thing. Thanks again :).

not all that much to be honest...but ill share the limelight anyway...Im the kind of guy that knocks the kids over to get in the photo, that's me that is :D

See above. You added tons of cool stuff. Some things I've tried to emulate with a guitar in the past with varying degrees of success and some other things I never even thought of.:) Watch out for those kids.

This is a sweet tune guys. ++++

Thanks dodge! :) Glad you dug it.

Hah....a new sound is born: tartanheatmisery!:D
Really like this Pete and KC's little touches have added a zany colour to it. Everything sounds great, mix and performance! Well done guys, you oughta collab more....;)

Ha! Thanks joey.

...zany is good in this case. His material just gave me a lot more depth of sound to work with and freed me up to worry about other things - like learning how to align tracks...:( Never had to do that before - what a PITA! Worth it though to be sure :).

Good point ff. Thanks :). I used loops - maybe 5-6 different sections arranged in a fairly involved pattern, but there are sections where the same pattern is playing continually throughout a verse or something. So, even though each section was originally played by a human being, stringing the same section together probably results in a robotic effect. With some research and effort, I could probably learn tricks to vary that sound within say just the snare track over the course of the loop. Not there yet though!

I listened to this earlier today, did not get the chance to comment.

Sounded very laidback and groovy to me.

awsome stuff:cool:

Thanks so much Nak :). I'm glad you liked it. A lot more effort (by both parties) went into this than one would expect ;).

I hope my post on your track didn't seem too negative. I was just focusing on the overall sound based on my preferences. The music itself is pretty amazing. Reminds me of some blend of elp, king crimson, yes and jethro tull. Not so much what I listen to now, but certainly the soundtrack of my youth. Thanks again!
