Any clue as to why I at times I cannot see a wave form of a track( it just appears as 2 straight line) but it can be heard? This of course is after a few minutes and I have waited for all wave forms to show.

Who said anything about expanding the track?jmorris said:it will only be 1 or 2 tracks. It isnt that the wave isnt expanded. It was there, then next time I open the project it isnt. I can expand the track all I want and all I see is 2 lines but like I said I can hear it. Is there a way of posting an image of my project here for you guys to see?
Thanks, Jim
I'm looking fer it now. Where the heck is itdachay2tnr said:Trying increasing your picture cache.
It's in the aud.ini file.
PicCacheMB=20
Raise the 20 to 100 (or more if you have lots of hard drive space available).

The file is located in your Sonar directory. Surprising, huh?jmorris said:I'm looking fer it now. Where the heck is it![]()
Sonar stores the waveforms in a directory called Picture Cache. The size of the directory is limited by the PicCache setting in the aud.ini file. When the directory reaches its limit, Sonar will overwrite some of the other waveforms to store new information.I just opened up the project again to look for text edit and all waves are there! OK , not to be stupid, but where is that?Sonar Directory?

X = the version of Sonar you own.
Sorry if this sounds condescending, but I take it you're not very computer literate.
You could do a search in Windows Explorer for "aud.ini" in order to find it as well.
I assume you saved the file, and not just closed it, right?jmorris said:I found picture cache, highlighted the 20 and changed it to 160,closed out.
That's OK. Assuming you changed the cache properly (which it sounds like you did) the waveforms should be there the next you open the project, without having to wait for a redraw.well, the one songs for some reason has the wave files all formed when I open the project. All of the other songs are not formed until 30sec to 1 minute as is the norm. Weird, but I'll have to see if the "lost wave form" returns.
You're absolutely right, Q. I guess I was getting a little testy about having answered this question in the second post, and we're now up to #17.Qwerty said:This is the bit where we all wish each other Merry Christmas and thank each other for all the assistance...
