My signal chain is:

Soundcraft M8 Mixer-Midiman Audiophile PCI Audio Card-iMac OS 10.2.6-Midiman Audiophile PCI Audio Card-Soundcraft M8 Mixer-Samson S700 Power Amp-ProAc Monitors

Does anyone have any suggestions to any headphones? Or would I even need any headphones? Price range depends on the need for them right now, and I don't know how important they would be.

Thanks,
Chris

I'm assuming you want headphones for tracking, not mixing. You really don't want to get started doing your mixdown with headphones.

If for tracking it depends on how good a quality you want, how much isolation do you need and will other people be coming in who could care less that your paid $100 for them. If you have these type of people coming in to record then go cheap like with Harvey's MoreMe cans. I have several of these. They don't sound great (not supposed to) but they're sturdy, have good isolation and cheap. However, these are not the ones to get if you also want to use them kicked back listening to you stereo. If that's what you want (and don't need the isolation) look at the Behringer HPX2000 cans. They're comfortable and sound decent for $20.

Don is right. If you just need something to hear what you've done, some open air phones are the best way to go, Behringer, Grado, even Radio Shack has some decent phones.

If you need to hear what you're doing as you record, go with the Sony, Beyer, AKG, or Sennheiser top of the line closed headphones.

If you're gonna record other people and they need to hear themselves, the MoreMe headphones make sense.

All the other phones are available all over the place - the MoreMe headphones are at:
