Hi... I pretend to connect my mixer to more than 1 pair of headphones, and the mixer has only 1 phones out, so I'll have to buy a headphone amplifier.

I've been lookin' around and saw the Behringer HA4700 XL and the Art Headamp, and don't know which one should I buy. I basicly only need the phone outs with volume control.

The ART headamp has those basic features, but it is so small and looks so fragile... On the other side the Behringer one it's a rack unit and has more features like eq for example, that gives a more quality look, so I don't know which to choose, mostly because I don't know if the ART is a quality product (without distortion, noise and that type of annoying things), but if it has no problems, I will buy it.

So the help I need in this thread is feedback from those headphone amps and to help me decide which one should I buy.

Thanks

headphone amps will do pretty well the same job no matter which one you have. you decision should be based on whether you want volume controls on each channel and how many inputs and outputs they have. dont worry about sound quality. oh and my personal opinion is to not go rack mounted. i just like the idea of having a small box in the middle of the room so everyone can plug into that rather than be next to a rack.

thats not true. so a behringer does as well as the grace 902??Maybe i Misunderstood.

in terms of feeding a group of players a headphone source...yes

for actual monitoring i wouldnt run through an extra headphone amp, just adds to the signal chain.

what advantages do you think a high end headphone amp has over a low end one for tracking?

tracking??probably no advantages.the folks I Know do listening(as in leisure time) listening through headphone amps, and in that enviroment, high fidelity is more of a concern(in which case the grace definitely is miles above the others)..I guess i didnt understand what the first poster was looking for. my mistake.
the two you mentioned will be fine. ...my misunderstanding..

when headphone amps are mentioned i always presume for tracking. but yeh your right, it wasen't obvious from the original post what it would be for. i agree that a good headphone amp is important for all other applications.

so it's ok to run either the behringer or the art headphone amp cuz the noise for tracking isn't a big problem right? but however I will need to use headphones for monitoring while recordings... can I do that without problems using the amp? thanks
