Do I need a Y cable to connect my headphone amp to my delta 44 or do I just need a 1/4" Trs cable male on both ends? I'm buying a pair of closed back headphones, so is it nescessary to buy a headphone amp or can they just plug right into my Delta 44 outs??

I'm really confused about this because I've been told 3 different things... 1 person told me you can just plug your closed back headphones into the outs on the Delta, another said you need a 1/4" Trs cable male on both ends and another said I need a Y cable...

PLEASE HELP, I'm new to this stuff, sorry.

Get yourself a little mixer that has an output for cans and then you can mix the 4 outputs to stereo.

The outputs on the Delta are MONO. So plugging your headphones straight in will not work how you want it to. Take a jack lead, or two if you're desperate for separated stereo, from the Delta to your headphone amp. The amp will send signal to both sides of your headphones, even if the input is mono. That's it's job. :)

Does that help at all?

Yes, I think. you're saying since the delta 44 is mono so I can't just plug the headphones in 2 the delta because it wouldn't work out of both sides? So all I need to do is buy the headphone amp and a 1/4" cable male on both sides to connect the delta and amp together? Is this the cable I need? http://www.zzounds.com/a--2676837/item--CNQSGC2

Depends on your headphone amp. On the only one I've used, it only takes mono signals. So you take one mono line from the Delta and headphone amp will obviously make it come out of both sides of your phones (or sometimes there's a switch for one side only, for those pesky singers who hate using phones).

Help me Delta 44

OK here is what I have going on. I am comming out of outputs 1/2 with 1/4 inch cables into a stereo adapter plug into a headphone amp. It is only mixing in the left ear. I can not get the delta to pan to the right under any configuration. if I pan right in the monitor mixer panel I lose signal all together.

Ahhh, did you get a STEREO SPLITTER cable or a standard Y-CABLE???

They are 2 very different things.

A Stereo splitter cable works, a Y-cable will not let you pan as you are getting the signal summed to both sides.

Radio Shack has Stereo splitters (I picked up one there for my Echo Mia after making the same mistake...)
