im looking to buy a headphone amp and i want to be able to output 4 pairs of headphones. does anyone have any specific model in mind .... i was looking at a behringer one a while ago should i just buy that one .. i mean it's only a headphone amp. (i will be using this so that everyone in the band can hear everything that is going on not for mastering or mixing or anything so its really not that important)

The Behringer will do you just fine. Mine's still working great after about 3 years. Plenty of juice to get you loud. Cheap. Go for it.

Yeah the Behri one is actually pretty good compared to anything in the price range.

Been using a mackie 1202 to moniter music & vox - maybe Im deaf but the
vocals are distorted -guess Im maxing out the mackie headphone input-

--wondering if any of the above headphone amps have more & cleaner in/output than the mackie?

John....yes. Onboard headphones out are generally pretty weak.

once again, the Oz Audio HM-6 Rocks

but might be just a little over the budget you're aming at..

i got mine second hand for about $160

and i'll go buy me a new one when it gets stolen or would break down one day...

I picked up a Rane Mojo MH4 on Ebay for $60 shipped last week. Its a simple amp, but it sounds awesome and I can't turn it up past like 3 or I'll blow my ears out. So it has plenty of power. Just check Ebay and wait till an auction ends at a late time, or on a Sunday or something, you should be able to pick up something decent for cheap.

so you're the bastard that got that! haha, weird... congrats man, i was thinking of picking it up, then woops... it was over before i knew it.

The Behringer headphone amp is great. (Its the only piece of their gear I own)

Four channels, with volume and tone controls, plus your able to plug in an auxillary source for each channel. Three outputs per channel, (one on the front, two on the back.

Paid a hundred and twenty canadian for it. and its lasted three years. And its not in your signal chain, so it want affect sound quality. Any other unit, is pretty much a waste of money

Mwuuhahahaha!!! I got it at a great price, I couldn't believe it. I haven't see any headphone amp worth buying go for that low.

I think Samson has a new one out,I had the Behringer and it worked very well but the Samson has a 3 year warranty and it's cheaper, the features from what I saw taking a brief look seemed to be the same as Behringers, good luck!

I second eBay.

I just got a Furman headphone amp for $100.
Not too bad.

I seem to get most all my studio stuff from eBay.
