Hello,

My band has an akai eie pro with 4 ins and 4 outs. We use outs 1 and 2 to feed our 4 channel headphone amp.

We would like to add studio monitors, but it doesn't seem that i can create an aux bus from the master track to outs 3 and 4 in our DAW Mixcraft 5. The Send track that gets created doesn't have an option for routing to anything other than the master track.

Could I run monitors from an out from my headphone amp? It may seem like a silly question, but I have no idea.

Could I use Y cables to split the signal from outs 1 and 2 without losing audio signal?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Never used Mixcraft - took a quick look - it appears as though it has send capabilities, not sure if you can create multiple outs. Normally, you'd use outs 1-2 for your monitor mix. Create another channel that can receive from an stereo aux (pre-fader) & output via 3-4. This way, you can set up a headphone mix independent of your monitor mix. If the software doesn't allow this, your y-cable idea should work just fine (be sure to turn off monitors while tracking to avoid feedback, though). Good luck!
