Well, the ONLY problem I've come accross with this great machine is that it occasionally clicks on punch ins. O.K. I can edit the click out but was wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem and if there's a cure?
Thanks.
gez.

Hmmmmmmmmmm......never experienced ANYTHING like that with mine. How are you clocking it?

I have two Alesis ADAT-HD24's and I've never had that happen either.

No problem with punching in on mine. What are you using for a foot switch?

Never had that problem either... punches in the HD24 are dead-quiet.

Are you using a footswitch or auto-punch? (if you're using the BRC, don't forget you can chage the cut-over time for the punches -- maybe you have it set too high?)

Thanks for the replies.
I'm not clocking it externally as it's in an otherwise all-analogue setup. I'm not using auto-punch or a footswitch, just the front panel record/play buttons manually.
Example;- Recording an acoustic gtr in stereo the other day, on tracks 21+22, performed a punch-in and upon playback, investigating the click, found it only clicked on track 21, even though I'd punched-in accross both tracks! Wierd huh?
Other than this annoying trait the HD24 absolutely ROCKS!

I broke the virginity of my brand new HD24 yesterday, and recorded 13 tracks of rap vocals for a local artist. No problem whatsoever.

Good for you. Doesn't actually help me though.
I don't need to hear from people who DON'T suffer from this problem thanks, you're just wasting your own time as well as everybody else's. Cheers!

Strange Leaf, how expensive are the Alesis ADAT-HD24's in Sweden?

They have a list price of 15.500 SEK, which converted to dollars would be about $1850. The dollar goes up and down but that's about the right price.

When I bought mine, they listed 40.000:- SKR... So I bought it from germany...

Used it this weekend.. it's soooo smoooooth to work with.. Gotta love the input normaling

Just in case anyone else gets this problem, it's because I have OS1.10 WHICH HAD THIS BUG, I need to update to OS1.16 so hopefuly this will cure the problems. I have the Alesis HD24 Group on Yahoo to thank for this information. Thank you guys also for your replies. Long live HD24!

What input normalling ? Shit, that's the drawback from having a unit this easy to operate. I haven't read the manual yet.

Did last night. The input normalling is nothing for me.

My console can route any signal to any of its 24 outs, and sum at the same time. For example, I could plug a signal into channels 1, 6 and 17 and send ch6 to track 11 on the recorder, while sending a mixed signal of ch1 and ch17 to track 6. Or however I want.

But it's nice to have it for those who need it, I guess.
