Having second thoughts about buying new mixer.

Well i need to update my mixer as mine does not hold enough channels and no insert points. I am upgrading to mackie 1402 vlz. Im just hopeing that it is going to be the right one for me.

I want to record 2 mics guitar 2 keyboards. Also want to output softsynths though my audio card to my mixers ins.

Whats your views?

How many ins/outs does your soundcard have? How many tracks will you be recording at once?

4 inputs, 8 outputs.

Well 2 mics record 2 vocals but probably just one at a time. Keyboard then guitar. But i also want to control softsynths in my mixer and guitar rig. I like to create wakcy dance music using guiatr as well. The mroe channels the better.

The 1402 should work just fine for you. You'd be able to monitor everything through the main outs while only recording what you have routed to the alts.
