Having Issues with Mic Mate and Audacity

Hi
I've been recording for about 9 months and have had absolutely no issues. I've been recording guitar, bass, and electronic drums, and vocal all with separate amps and mics. I am "live" micing everything in the room and it sounds good. I run everything through a MXL Mic Mate and into the computer via USB connection. I use Audacity as the recording software.
Now, I bought a new computer (I also installed the Audigy soundcard from my old computer onto the new computer). The new computer has Windows 7, the old one had XP. Because of switching to Windows 7, I had to download the new Beta version of Audacity. Ok, no big deal, so I pull up the Audacity files that I had saved and start listening to them on the new beta version. No issues. HOWEVER, i am not able to record anything now?!?! I am admittedly not an expert with computers but after trying everything and checking settings, etc. it seems to me that the MIC MATE is causing the issues. If I try to start a previously recorded Audacity project, plugging the USB cable into the computer will MUTE all of the tracks (no playback) AND my new track will not record any volume. If I yank the Mic Mate back out of the USB connection while the tracks are running, then I can hear the tracks again. Any help would be appreciated. I've checked all the settings and am getting frustrated. Is this a Mic Mate / Windows 7 issue?? or is this a simple setting in my new computer that I am overlooking. Thanks, Chad

You might want to try the Audacity forums..

I downloaded it yesterday onto a Win 7 machine and also got the recommended Beta version, however I don't use Audacity to record, so haven't gone into the settings much..
